At the moment I’m supposed to be doing 3 other things, but I’m writing this!!
But this next one is quite a distraction.
I have recently fallen in with a crowd of weirdos who meet up in the forest and make fires. We have made popcorn, bread, cakes; I finally got around to re-creating a Bronze Age Palstave with a little help from my 3D printer.
But now I’m working on the mother of all distractions. I have websites to make, but all I can think about pewter casting. We are going to try casting with the bonfire. So obviously, I needed to work out how to get 3D printing in on the act.. Then I read a great article about pewter casting direct from PLA molds… It seems to just bloody well do it. No messing, no special equipment or techniques..
The red is an actual 3d print of this Flint Arrowhead from Sketchfab, and the blue is a 2 part mold I made. With luck, each mold will be able to be used more then once, but maybe not.. Who knows… We will see…
OK… Now on with the rest of the day’s work…
oh, I need to do the washing up..
